Bangalore, 10th November, 2014: Page Industries Ltd. a leading manufacturer of innerwear, leisurewear, sportswear and swimwear for men and women in India, today announced its financial results for the quarter ending on 30th September, 2014. Page Industries is the exclusive licensee of Jockey International Inc. (USA) and Speedo International Limited (UK).
The company recorded sales of Rs. 389.64 crores for the quarter ended September 30th, 2014, an increase of 35 percent from the corresponding quarter last year. The net profit for the period was Rs 49.90 crores, a growth of 22 percent.
Mr. Sunder Ashok Genomal - Managing Director, Page Industries Ltd says, “The second quarter of 2014-15 was unique, eventful, and result oriented. We created history on the 20th of August, 2014 when we launched brand Jockey in the United Arab Emirates. The 138 year old legacy brand ‘Jockey’ arrived at its 142nd port of call with lots of confidence, promise and fanfare. To begin with, we inaugurated the Exclusive Brand Outlet of Jockey at Dubai’s plush, upmarket Mirdiff city. The local press represented itself in full strength. Leading publications like Gulf News and Al Ittihad had their reporters and photographers covering the event. Everyone was curious to know more about the brand and the plans which we have for the UAE market.
Alongwith Mirdiff City, we launched two other exclusive brand outlets, one in Dubai Festival City and one in Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi on the same day. While Mirdiff City and Festival City are two of the landmark malls in Dubai, Dalma Mall in Abu Dhabi stands out to be one of the largest and most prestigious malls in that region. All three of our Exclusive Brand Outlets are in the regional format.
We complimented the launch with a robust marketing campaign. Gulf News and Khaleej Times, the two leading English publications carried full page advertisements of our brand alongwith Al Khaleej and Al Ittihad, the leading Arabic dailies. We have also created an exclusive website for the UAE market.”
“Back home in India, our 360 degree marketing campaign continued with Print Media and Out Of Home Media with ‘POP Colour’ for Men and ‘Shapewear’ for Women. Spectacular billboards with larger-than-life images in high streets and shopping malls across the country complimented the advertisements in leading publications, both English and vernacular. Our ‘Jockey or Nothing’ brand campaign went on air with a new brand commercial titled ‘Love’ and two product commercials one for ‘Shapewear’ and for ‘Sport Performance’, broadcasted across direct-to-home and cable and satellite television channels. Cinema and the digital medium have added to the impact. The ‘best or nothing’ philosophy of brand Jockey resonates with today’s youth and we believe our television commercials will connect with the youth and inspire them to live by these emotions and aspirations.”
“We inaugurated our 164th Exclusive Brand Store this quarter. Our brand stores now cover 119 stores in high streets and 45 stores in the busiest shopping malls across Metros, Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three cities. Each of these stores has received an overwhelming response from our patrons, motivating us to take rapid strides in store expansion across potential markets. "
“The second quarter has taken the Speedo brand to 950 plus stores including large format stores across 74 cities and six Speedo exclusive brand outlets located in Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune. The performance so far has been extremely heart- warming. ”
Jockey products are retailed through 164 exclusive brand outlets and 25,000 + retail stores in 1200 cities and towns across India.
As on September 30, 2014, Page Industries Ltd. has over 16,000 employees, spread over 10 state-of-the-art manufacturing complexes in Bengaluru, Hassan and Mysore.
